Hi! My name is Holly. I am a wife and mother of two boys, a fitness enthusiast and a NASM and AFAA Certified Keto Coach. Growing up, I always struggled with weight and self-consciousness issues. As time went on and as I got older, I kept putting on the pounds. Maybe just a couple a year, aside from when I was pregnant, but kept gaining weight nonetheless, without every being able to lose them again, no matter how restrictive I was. As with any restrictive diet, it was too hard and I craved my old food too much and one bad day turned into two and before I knew it, I was back to my old ways and gaining weight again.
Then I was introduced to the Ketogenic diet. I was extremely hesitant at first. I have never heard of such a thing and the thought of purposely eating fat seemed so foreign to me. I spent some time researching and trying to understand how this way of life was even possible. When I was ready to jump in head first, I did so with the support of my best friend Leah and our Kickboxing coach who has lived the Keto lifestyle for 10 years. Miraculously the weight started coming off! It was so exciting, but it did not happen overnight. I simply made the commitment to myself to give this lifestyle a try for 3 months. Within 2-3 weeks I started noticing changes in myself. Within 2 months, others started noticing. And within 5 months, I hit my goal weight and lost 25 pounds. After 2 years, I have managed to keep most of the weight off. I say most of the weight because while I continue the Keto diet, I have increased my workouts and resistance training and have gained more muscle. The beautiful thing about the Keto diet is that as you are in Ketosis your body is burning fat and sparing your muscle.
I decided to become a Keto Coach for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, I found myself constantly researching and learning about the benefits of the Keto diet and wanting to share my experience. I wanted to talk about it with others but sometimes people do not like unsolicited information. What better way for me to be able to share all I’ve learned then to become a coach and talk about it with people who WANTED to know. I’m so excited to be able to help others reach their health and weight loss goals, to be a support system with no judgement and to celebrate your Keto Lifestyle success!
Hi! I’m Leah and a partner at HoleKeto. My keto journey began in 2017 when my friend and trainer, Bobby, suggested the ketogenic diet during a training session. I wasn’t interested, my skepticism came from previous diets that I’ve tried, Weight watchers being one them. I would lose weight but easily gained the weight back, +extra pounds. Diets, like Weight Watchers, are low calorie based, each food categorized in a point system using a modified version of the SAD diet. I lost weight however I didn’t feel energized, happy and lacked mental clarity. I was miserable and hungry; the food did not satiate me. I was unable to maintain the diet, therefore the weight loss slowly turned into weight gain. Even with my misgivings, Bobby persisted and asked me just to try it out. Before I embarked on the ketogenic diet, I researched like a mad scientist and read studies that proved that the ketogenic diet considerably improved diagnoses with those that have Diabetes Type 2, PCOS, and metabolic syndrome to name a few. I decided to give it a try. I was motivated. I looked in the mirror earlier that day and I noticed that I had back fat, the kind of back fat that hangs over your bra. Mind you, I am in my forties, a mother of 2 boys and a wife and I work full time as a Registered Nurse. I approached Keto with cautious optimism and with strong desire to become healthier for my family. In a few short months I lost weight, felt energized, increased mental clarity, and I enjoyed eating again. I haven’t gained the weight back, I’ve adopted this HoleKeto lifestyle and won’t ever promote or subscribe to the SAD diet again.
That was 2 years ago when I started my keto lifestyle and when my journey to longevity, homeostasis began. I continue to research what works and what doesn’t and have tried other modified keto plans. I believe that life is fluid and our goal is to be happy and healthy humans. My journey is ongoing, I don’t intend to stop learning, teaching and helping those to be their best, healthiest version of themselves.
Holly and Leah started their Keto journeys together in January 2017. We supported each other to get through the initial adjustments, carried each other through the missteps, and celebrated each other’s successes with weight loss as well as many other positive effects of the Ketogenic Diet. In June 2018, both of us were coming to a crossroads in our professional careers. Our kids were getting older and we wanted to do something that would give us a sense of fulfillment professionally. We really wanted to share what we learned and have accomplished following the Ketogenic Diet with others. We are both NASM and AFAA Certified Ketogenic Coaches and would love to help you and your family transition away from the Standard American Diet, heal your bodies and begin your path of true healthy living.
